The 2011 Barolo is an expansive wine that shows great definition and ample richness that is reflective of the warm growing season. It opens to soft lines with plush tones of ripe berry, black cherry, spice and mahogany. It is best suited for near-term consumption. Soft lines and plush tannins characterize the finish.

Palish ruby with orange tinges. Stones and earth on the nose with a hint of spice, dried fruit and Moroccan leather. Sweet fruit on the palate with salty, savoury finish. Really different and distinct and original. (WS)
Massolino's 2011 Barolo is soft, round and sensual, very much in the style of the year. Dried flowers, new leather, plums and red cherries are all laced together in a supple, juicy Barolo with tons of near and medium-term appeal.
The 2011 Barolo is rich, ample and textured on the palate. White truffles, smoke, licorice, black cherries and iron flesh out in a dark, brooding Barolo that shows the powerful side of the vintage. A wine of serious potential, the 2011 might turn out to be one of the best wines in its peer group. The open, resonant finish is quite appealing.
