The 2020 Volnay 1er Cru is the usual blend of Taillepieds and Clos des Chênes. It has a vivid nose with Bing cherry, wild strawberry and a touch of blackcurrant, quite citrus in style and very focused. The palate is beautifully balanced with pliant tannins, fresh acidity and ripe red fruit, with wonderful mineralité and delineation on the finish. This is one of the finest reds that I have tasted from Coche-Dury in recent years.

The 2020 Volnay 1er Cru wafts from the glass with aromas of dark berries, peonies, baking chocolate and sweet forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, supple and sensual, with refined tannins, lively acids and a long, penetrating finish, it's balanced to age with grace.
