The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has an attractive and concentrated bouquet with orange blossom/pith, Mirabelle and light jasmine aromas. Finely delineated and focused, the oak is neatly integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive balance and poise—very complex and captivating. This sophisticated Pucelles demonstrates clever winemaking. It is truly a wonderful wine that surpasses expectations. Chapeau! Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru had a tight, backward nose that struggled to follow in the footsteps of the Genevrières and Perrières. The palate is well balanced with lime and candied orange peel on the entry. A very effervescent Puligny, if just missing the nobility of other vintages that have crossed my palate over the years.
