Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2022-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, May 2023

I bought a case of Moreau's 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot en primeur, and the first bottle, eight years later, remains youthful, unwinding in the glass with scents of Asian pear, bee pollen, drawn butter, citrus oil and subtle hints of freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, this cuvée is invariably a pure, precise rendition of a climat that can deliver corpulent wines, and that's true a fortiori in the 2014 vintage. Like many 2014 whites in the Côte de Beaune, the mid-palate is a little meager, but perhaps more personality and texture will emerge with age.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2019-2027, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jun 2016

(Moreau picked his vines in Fairendes four or five days later than his parcel in La Carduse): Bright yellow. Expressive, slightly exotic scents of yellow fruits, orange and mirabelle . In a distinctly fruity style but nicely firmed and lifted by fresh acidity and rocky minerality. Shows none of the honeyed character of the Maltroie. Finishes with a hint of lemon zest and sneaky power. This energetic, nicely balanced wine should evolve gracefully in the bottle.

Pale, bright yellow. Calcaire -driven aromas of grapefruit, pineapple and crushed stone. Densely packed and rich, showing a sexy sweetness to its complex flavors of apple, pear, white peach and flowers. Stony, saline minerality gives the wine a distinctly sappy character and contributes lift to the long, fine-grained finish.
