A terrific effort, the 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Ancegnières unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, freshly baked bread, orange oil and toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's vibrant and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, elegantly chalky finish.

Moderate wood is present on the overtly floral-suffused nose of pear essence, apple and a whiff of lemon peel. The succulent, round and highly seductive medium weight flavors are blessed with an abundance of dry extract before terminating in a clean, dry and lengthy finale. This isn't as racy as a number of the foregoing wine but it's not only quite stylish, it's also impressively complex.
