Note di degustazione
Alvina Pernot only managed to make a barrel and a half of this top Premier Cru in 2021. It’s a little muted at present, but there’s an enticing spicy complexity to the nose. This is taut and long, with a sleek profile dominated by green-fruited, lime-inflexted mineral tones, yet there’s also a white peach brightness, building to a long, gunflint, smokey finish.

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru presents a slightly underwhelming bouquet of lime and green apples, missing some mineralité , although there is a sense of energy—more than Olivier Leflaive's Pucelles. You do have to contend with a little oxidation, but it remains far in the background. The palate is fresh on the entry with tangy orange zest and lemon notes, fine weight and much more length than some of its peers, with a dash of spice on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru has quite riveting minerally scents on the nose: razor-sharp focus, you can really feel the terroir translated through the wine. The palate is again, very mineral-driven, sharp and quite malic, yet very harmonious and complex, reminiscent of Domaine Vincent Leflaive with a very persistent, stem ginger infused finish. Outstanding.
