The 2020 Volnay 1er Cru Les Santenots is another success, bursting with aromas of sweet spices, berries and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and lively palate and concluding with a saline finish. Open and perfumed, it was vinified with 50% whole bunches.

The 2020 Volnay Les Santenots 1er Cru comes from Girardin’s own vines and currently has 30% whole bunch. It has a well-defined, quite peppery bouquet with touches of cedar and tobacco infusing the black fruit, still some oak to be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, well balanced with quite a tensile finish, enhanced by the stem addition. Very promising.
