Note di degustazione
The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a well-defined and focused bouquet. Crustacea, sea spray, white peach and crushed stone aromas emerge. Quintessential Chevalier-Montrachet. The palate is beautifully balanced with a silver thread of acidity. There is real penetration on the mid-palate, like a coiled-up spring, and it delivers a payload of mineralité on the sapid finish that needs a little more length. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is beautifully defined on the nose, very delineated with crushed stone, hints of yellow plum, fern and green apples. Like Colin’s Les Demoiselles, there an unanticipated strictness and linearity here and that translates across to the palate. Very cohesive, nicely poised, though you could argue that it does not possess the penetration or complexity of a top vintage like the 2017. Still, this should give 15-20 years drinking pleasure.
