Note di degustazione
The fruit here comes from an enclosed section, or clos, within Folatières. There’s a lovely play here between the lime citrus bite and honeyed roundness. The wine’s focused citric drive is beautifully softened by fleshy flat peach and more honey, before pulling back to a long, mineral finish.

The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Clos les Folatières 1er Cru feels a little one-dimensional compared to its peers and shows some sur-maturité . This may be a bit late-picked wine. Peachy. The palate is a little oily in texture on the entry, with lower acidity. The 2020 is phenolic and spicy, but overall, it is missing some sophistication and focus. Hmm... I don't show if this is a representative bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos des Folatières wafts from the glass with aromas of pear, musky peach, orange oil, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, it's fleshy and textural, concluding with a long, mineral finish. This has turned out nicely.
