Da bere 2023-2033, FINE+RARE, Oct 2021

Vide Bourse is one of the best located sites in the Côte d’Or. The Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru is a continuation of Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet on the downward slope. The wine was a stand-out from an impressive line-up of wines from Albert Bichot in 2020 – having everything you could ask for. The nose is concentrated, gourmand in style, supported by a beautiful line of citrus zest, brioche and stone fruit. This full-bodied Chassagne-Montrachet is driven by excellent tension and spectacular acidity – a distinct character of 2020 white Burgundy. The mid-palate is rich. With ripe white peach flavours, it is extremely textural and mouth-coating. The wine is well balanced and offers a long, powerful, buttery, complex finish. Surprisingly, the wood is already smoothly integrated, bringing just the necessary amount of structure to the palate. This is a serious wine which will be enjoyable in the coming three years but age gracefully over a decade. With only one barrel produced, this is exclusive to FINE+RARE.

♥ Outstanding. This also conveys a hint of the exotic with its nose of both white and yellow peach, citrus rind and a similar hint of passion fruit is trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is fine richness and excellent volume to the intense medium weight plus flavors that terminate in a compact and tightly wound finale where a touch of warmth slowly emerges. This is also going to need at least a few years of patience.” Drink 2028+
