Punteggio 87-89/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Village exhibits notes of pear, mandarin orange, fresh mint and praline. Medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with a rich core of fruit girdled by bright acids, it's a generous but nicely balanced wine that will drink well young.

Haisma: ' Two-vineyard blend – La Goujonne and En Pimont – two complete extremes of Chassagne Montrachet that make for a brilliant combination of rich and mineral. We finally managed to get some more fruit from the grower so instead of only two barrels we now have five. So this year no limit on what you can have – well, within reason!!' A more forward, opulent Chassagne than some – although within the range of Haisma wines, this counts as one of his tenser whites. Already drinkable. Just slightly simple. (JR)

There are five barrels of the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Village, less than the potential eight that Haisma believes is possible. The well-defined nose offers lemon sherbet and orange cordial scents. The palate is taut and fresh, with better acidity than the 2018. Lovely white peach notes on the finish. Recommended.
