Cask sample. Fuller and more concentrated than their village Puligny, with clear differentiation in terms of density, weight and clarity of fruit. Vivid apple fruit through to the finish. Very good, though less esoteric than their village Puligny wine. (RH)

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes, which comes from 1.80-hectares of vine, matures in 25% new oak. It offers hints of white flower and brioche on the nose that gently unfolds in the glass. The palate certainly has more tension and a sense of energy compared to the Puligny Village, with good salinity and a light spiciness towards the finish. This is worth seeking out.
