Firmer and more muscular, the 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Les Santenots delivers a deeper-pitched bouquet of sweet berries, rich soil tones, raw cocoa and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, it's youthfully chewy, with chalky tannins framing its succulent core of fruit.

The 2018 Volnay Les Santenots 1er Cru comes from the top of the incline. It has quite an intense bouquet of cranberry, strawberry, orange peel and light tomato vine aromas, all well defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry. Very pure in style, leading to a bright finish that is endowed with Pommard-like structure. Drink over the next decade.
