2011 Barolo Gallinnotto

This is among the most interesting wines I tasted in this flight from Mauro Molino. The 2011 Barolo Gallinotto opens to darkly saturated color concentration and shows ripe aromas of plum, prune and black currant. That abundant fruit is expertly balanced by spice, tobacco and savory spice. Dark mineral and asphalt also appear. This is a large-scale and elaborate expression of Nebbiolo with a soft and velvety mouthfeel. The wine is ready to drink now.
