Exuberant aromas of pear, citrus zest, white flowers and toasty oak introduce the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy but precise wine that's charming and open-knit. Ripe and generous, this will drink well young.
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village is more muted on the nose compared to the Chassagne, offering fleeting green apple and nettle aromas. The palate is fresh on the entry, although it never quite kicks with the same intensity as its Chassagne sibling. Steely and reserved.
Cask sample. Intense and ripe green fruits on the nose. Creamy pears and a mealy lees character. Deep and much richer than the Chassagne. Lovely richness and freshness in balance. Deep fruited with a long caressing but fresh finish. (JH)
