Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2022-2042, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

Lively and charming, Leflaive's 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village delivers aromas of almond past, fresh pastry, white flowers and crisp orchard fruit. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's succulent and expressive, with an open-knit core, lively acids and a nicely defined finish.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a taut, crisp bouquet with scents of wet limestone, sea spray and green apple. There is fine delineation here, and more intensity than I was anticipating for a Village Cru. The palate is well balanced with subtle passion fruit and citrus notes on the entry, good weight in the mouth and fine acidity, though not as complex on the finish as other Village Crus I have tasted from Leflaive. Therefore I suspect this will be ideal for early drinking.

Oak aged, 15% new oak for the village vines. Tank sample. A touch of attractively smoky reduction. Sweet citrus, hint of struck match and lovely freshness. Notable intensity. (JH)
