Barolo. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Closed nose that is a little reductive and a tiny bit grubby. Tangy cherry fruit that is hesitant to open up, and with quite prominent acidity. Lots of firm tannins, but the whole strikes a balance on the finish. Probably just needs more time. (WS)

The 2015 Barolo Cannubi is endowed with a good bit of mid-palate sweetness and depth, while remaining very much in the Brezza style. Sweet dried cherry, mint, cedar, dried herbs and tobacco add aromatic nuance to this pretty, sensual Barolo. I would prefer to drink the 2015 sooner rather than later. The sensuality and pedigree of Cannubi come through, especially in the wine's silkiness, and yet the wine is also a bit forward, which can happen in sandier sites that are naturally challenged in warmer years.
Barolo. Pale ruby. Autumn undergrowth on the nose. Sweet start and great life. Lots of energy here with pretty dry tannins and even a bit of alcohol on the end. (JR)
