Note di degustazione
The 2017 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru feels rather closed on the nose compared to its peers. The palate is quite malic on the entry, presenting sour lemon, apple peels and a pinch of spice. Modest in depth, this just feels a little severe at the moment. I have a feeling this is an En Remilly that has just closed down and suffered in a blind tasting, hence the question mark against my score. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

The 2017 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru is showing well from bottle, delivering a steely bouquet with a surfeit of tension. Green apples and touches of white peach and citrus lemon emerge with time. The palate has put on a bit of weight since I last tasted it, while the limestone terroir has gained some clarity. This is a superb En Remilly that will age with style (if you can resist).
Wafting from the glass with scents of crisp yellow orchard fruit, ripe white peach, beeswax and oyster shell, the 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly is medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and charming, with a deep and voluminous core of fruit, lively acids and a saline finish. This has gained in tension with élevage.
