Dark cherry, orange peel, spice, dried flowers and a touch of French oak are some of the notes that grace the 2012 Barolo Roggeri. Medium in body, with a decidedly exotic flavor profile, the Roggeri is another Barolo from Ciabot Berton that will drink well with minimal cellaring.

Bright, layered brick red. Pale rim. Edgy and with good attack. Lots of density and dry tannins but fresh and very energetic. (JR)
More youthful looking than the straight Barolo. Concentrated ruby with orange tinges. Compact and precise cherry nose with lovely depth. Plenty to enjoy here, with savoury, minerally notes and a touch of orange and rust. Precise, linear and very tight palate that is still little locked up, but with great potential. Elegant palate weight and masses of tannins. Long and brooding. (WS)
La Morra. Modern, fragrant and satsifying. Better intensity than their basic Barolo. Slightly mousy edge on the very finish. (RH)
