The 2016 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is showing superbly from bottle, wafting from the glass with aromas of fragrant citrus fruit, crisp green apple, white flowers and subtle pastry cream. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a satiny texture, excellent concentration and a seamless, elegant profile. Jadot has several parcels in Folatières, so this is an important cuvée for them. It's well worth seeking out.
(Jadot made two barrels of this wine, vs. a normal six; the vines are situated high on the slope, not far from Jadot's Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles): Very pure but subdued aromas of apple and spices. Concentrated and sappy on the palate, conveying an enticing touch of oaky sweetness to its flavors of white peach, spiced apple and flowers. Not yet showing ultimate class but this is still young and unevolved.
Informazioni sul produttore

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
