Note di degustazione
(production was cut by more than half; aging in two barrels, one of them new): Healthy dark red. Dark cherry and coffee aromas are complemented by spicy oak. Surprisingly plush and tactile in the mouth, conveying serious medicinal reserve nicely leavened by fleshiness. The cherry fruit is lifted by livelier notes of raspberry and cranberry. Perhaps the longest of these 2016s to this point, finishing with substantial fine-grained tannins. This has the mid-palate material and structure for a leisurely evolution in bottle.

The 2016 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes has the best aromatics from the four Volnays I tasted from Jadot, principally because it has more opulence, more "Volnay" on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, ripe tannin, sweet and sensual with a lush, zest finish tinged with blue fruit and spice. Excellent.
Informazioni sul produttore

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
