Note di degustazione
(in barrel, with very little SO2 added to this point): White peach, minerals and a medicinal whiff of menthol on the nose. A far more austere wine than the 2015 version, dominated in the mouth by crushed-rock minerality and menthol. Showing little in the way of flattering fruit in the early going. This is remarkably fresh considering how long it has spent in barrel with minimal SO2.

The 2014 Puligny Montrachet les Tremblots Haut Densité has a very intense, almost exotic bouquet with a licorice aroma pervading the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with lively peach and nectarine notes, good density with lemongrass and a touch of star anise on the finish. This is certainly very different to the regular bottling - a fascinating Puligny for those that seek a little exoticism in their wine.
(this vineyard was originally planted in 1960; Lamy added more vines to the same parcel in 2001 in order to bring the density to 20,000 per hectare): Musky aromas of yellow peach and earth. Smooth, savory and very dry, showing deeply pitched flavors of smoke and spices. Strong material here but I find this a bit low-toned.
