Note di degustazione
The 2016 Les Forts de Latour has an outstanding nose: blackberry, graphite and violet scents, with the oak seamlessly enmeshed, very focused and poised. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a mixture of red and black fruit, tobacco and black pepper. Impressive precision towards the finish, this is a sophisticated Pauillac that will go the course. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

A perfumed nose of tar, dried flowers, cedar and wet earth. Medium- to full-bodied with exceptional balance, showing precise yet concentrated dark fruit complemented by well-integrated tannins that add definition. Beginning to open and already approachable, yet will continue aging well. Drink or hold. 10 Years On retrospective.
The second wine of this great château, the 2016 Les Forts De Latour continues to impress. I commented on release that it was the best wine in the vintage, and my opinion hasn't changed. This beauty offers plenty of classic Latour character as well as notes of blackcurrants, saddle leather, lead pencil shavings, and dried flowers. Full-bodied, concentrated, and perfectly balanced, it's just now starting to round into form and will no doubt continue drinking well for another 2+ decades. It's a gorgeous Pauillac.
