The 2012 Barolo Vigna Rionda is rich, unctuous and powerful. The ripest and most voluptuous of the 2012s, the Vigna Rionda offers notable depth and mid-palate creaminess. The flavors are bright and perfumed, but there aren't a whole of vineyard signatures at the moment. It will be interesting to see if those develop over time. The 2012 is a very nice and expressive Barolo if taken on its own terms.
