Note di degustazione
(Roulot's vines are in Charmes-Dessous): Bright, light yellow. Aromas and flavors of peach, apple, pear and spices are enlivened by a rocky quality. A step up in intensity and verve from the Poruzots, showing lovely clarity of fruit and inner-mouth aromatic character but a bit tight in the early going. This has the concentration of low-yielding vines on rich soil but without any heaviness. Spreads out to saturate the palate on the back end, finishing with excellent grip and citrussy lift.

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes is more strict and linear on the nose compared to many other 2015 Charmes that I tasted, with subtle scents of melted candle wax, persimmon and peony. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, taut and linear with hints of white peach and orange pith towards the somehow sensual finish. This is superb and it may merit a higher score once in bottle.
Cask sample. Vines planted 1942 in the lower part. A green streak there on the nose and then rich and round and creamy. Very charming and tight, tense and concentrated. Tense! But it needs time. (JR)
Lovely citrussy lift on the nose, with complicating notes of spices and vanilla. Sappy and concentrated in the mouth, showing a dominant lemon flavor and terrific energy. The longest to this point of these 2015s but still youthfully wound-up. Excellent potential here--and another '15 that's unusually vibrant for the vintage.
