Note di degustazione
(includes two parcels, both from the Puligny side of this grand cru; aged in 100% new oak, but Remoissenet makes extensive use of 350-liter barrels): Ripe stone fruits, musky clove and nutmeg, minerals and smoke on the nose. Then tight, lively and light on its feet, showing superb depth to its stone fruit and mineral flavors. This very broad wine's building thickness and sweetness are perfectly leavened by its firm mineral spine. Really spreads out horizontally and lingers on the back end.

The 2015 Batard Montrachet was showing just a touch of reduction on the nose that occluded some of its mineral tension. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture, quite harmonious in the mouth with a pretty, green apple and spice-tinged finish. It just lacks that stoniness you seek in a Batard-Montrachet, because of the warm growing season.
