Deeper and more complex on the nose than the Vergers, showing more ginger and menthol than easy fruitiness today; more strict and soil-driven. Boasts the volume, plushness and power of the vintage, but comes across as drier and less evolved than the Vergers, with a fine-grained texture to its white peach, spice and mineral flavors. The slowly building finish stains the palate with fruit.

Cask sample. Racked in September for bottling in March 2017. Dense soils. Lightly smoky nose. Racy and big boned. Lots of pleasure on the delivery. Refined and well defined. Very long. (JR)
Sexy aromas of pear, yellow peach and stone suggest a flavorful and delineated wine. Tactile and classically dry, with an element of salty minerality complicating the stone fruit flavors. With its strong impression of dry extract, this wine may have more potential than the 2014 version even if it's a bit timid today.
