Note di degustazione
(100% destemmed): Bright, dark red. Musky black raspberry, smoky minerals and subtle spices on the nose. Hugely rich and sweet, showing premier cru class, texture and breadth to its flavors of dark berries and violet. Darker in its fruit character than the Volnay Clos de la Cave, and with much more creamy stuffing to support its late-arriving tannins. Really saturates the entire palate on the back end. Very showy today but it would be a shame not to give this wine at least a couple years in the cellar.

Focused, ripe fruit nose with real appeal – and sufficient acidity. Bravo! Rather meat extract in flavour. Lip smacking. (JR)
The 2015 Volnay Vieilles Vignes comes from vines located just below the premier cru in a sunnier microclimate with clay-rich soils. It has an elegant bouquet with scents of blackberry leaf, cranberry, orange rind and a touch of wilted rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp and tensile tannin. There are tightly-wound, stony red berry fruit intermixed with orange rind and white pepper, the mouth tingling long after the wine has departed. Again, this is a strong and delicious offering from Thomas Bouley.
