Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2019-2027, Neal Martin, Nov 2018

The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru is toasty with popcorn and light grilled walnut aromas - very Meursault-like in style. The palate is well balanced, displaying strong lime cordial notes on the entry that overwhelm the final two-thirds. It is enjoyable, but a little too candied for a Folatières. Therefore, I would broach this in its youth rather than cellaring it. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (DIAM GRAND CRU closure)

Bright light yellow. High-pitched scents of steely crushed stone and flowers. Juicy and flavorful without any impression of weight, with its energetic white peach and lemon flavors offering excellent definition. Finishes persistent and firm-edged, with a lovely sweet/salty balance and no shortage of acidity. I like this!

The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières, under the "Domaine Héritiers du Jadot" label, was more reserved than the Puligny Clos de la Garenne when I tasted them side by side, but it opens with attractive limestone and granitic aromas. The palate is crisp on the entry with vibrant acidity, well balanced with orange zest and a touch of tangy marmalade lending complexity on the taut and focused finish. Excellent - this is one of Jadot's best whites this vintage.
