The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet Les Aubues has a mineral-driven, crushed pebble nose flanked by scents of orange peel, stem ginger and light nutmeg aromas. This has good intensity for a Village Cru. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Perhaps here its status curtails the persistence and depth of this Puligny-Montrachet, but this excellent season for the Burgundy whites imbues it with precision. Very fine.

The palate is clean and fresh on the entry, nicely weighted in the mouth with grapefruit and melon notes, though it is missing some of the precision found in the Bachelet's premier crus.
