Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2017-2028, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jan 2017

The 2012 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is a dark Nebbiolo with good structure and a linear approach. There are distant notes of cured meat, leather and spice that play a supporting role to dark fruit and plum. The finish is long and shows good complexity. This is a well built Barolo that needs extra years of cellar aging before it loses its baby fat.

Castiglione Falletto. Just mid ruby with a broad orange rim. Baked apple pie with a dusting of aspirin. Waxy. Sweet and sour undefined palate. Strangely incompetent. Cask sample? (WS)

Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 2016-2026, Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, Mar 2016

Just mid ruby with pale orange rim. Pretty nose of cherry and wild strawberry. Almost liqueur-like cherry fruit on the palate and with bags of chewy tannins. Hints of soft herb liqueur on the finish, yet with good lift. (WS)

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2018-2032, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2016

The 2012 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is wonderfully lifted and precise in the glass, qualities that aren't typical of this renowned site in Castiglione Falletto. Crushed rose petals, anise, mint and red cherry all meld together. In 2012, the Bricco Fiasco is decidedly feminine and gracious, with striking aromatics but less of the muscle than is often present. The 2012 should drink well with minimal cellaring. Although not especially representative of its origins, the 2012 is a very pretty wine in its own right.
