Note di degustazione
Very pale. Fascinatingly wild, herby, field-like aromas. Intensely aromatic with hedgerow plus some strong aromatic herbal notes immediately on the nose. Masses of acidity and very very youthful. Taut but no compromises. Very tense yet also powerful and sculpted and intense. Extremely long and ambitious. The most powerful wine so far with almost an exaggeration of Chevalier character. Rapier-like. Very tight knit. Essence of Chevalier Montrachet. (JR)

The 1999 Chevalier-Montrachet displays oak, minerals, and flowers in its aromatics. This medium-bodied, nuanced, rich wine possesses outstanding depth and purity. "We're not used to making such refined wines at Ramonet. We're more into the Caterpillar structure," said Noel Ramonet. This is an elegant wine that most certainly would have merited a score in the nineties were it not for a touch of dryness in the finish. Lemon, lime, apple, powdered stone and a hint of menthol on the nose. Very tightly wound, with powerful acidity and a penetrating flavor of liquid stone. A very youthful wine of great finesse. Finishes very firm and long, with terrific cut and mineral pungency.
