Talcum powder fragrance – this is almost a bit Muscat-esque! Toasted nuts and a fish sauce umami character. Very particular and peculiar! (RH)

The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vide Bourse has a racy and lively bouquet with leesy, citrus fruit that contains plenty of energy. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a crisp line of acidity -- orange zest and a touch of toffee apple, the wood a little evident on the finish but you cannot help being impressed by the powerful finish. It demands attention...and it deserves it.
