Punteggio 94/100 · James Suckling, Jul 2021

Bright lemon and smoky-oak nose, which quickly develops a touch of smoked bacon. Has some funk from long lees aging, along with a slug of new oak on the full and bold palate, but has the depth and vitality to carry this. Long, powerful and polished finish. Drink or hold.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2018-2028, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020

The 2013 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is open and expressive, offering up a musky bouquet of orange oil, ripe peach, pear, spices, citrus blossom and toasted nuts. Full-bodied, satiny and textural, it's elegantly muscular, with a deep but open core, lively acids and a long, aromatic finish. This is a forward, demonstrative Bâtard from Ramonet that is drinking well in its youth.

Pale, bright lemon-yellow. Reticent nose dominated by spicy oak. Deep but closed and youthfully unforthcoming, with its ripe pear, peach and mineral flavors not yet expressive. Finishes with strong saline minerality and echoing, rising length. Chewier and drier than the Bienvenue. Unlike the other 2013 grand crus from Ramonet, this wine remained stubbornly closed after 48 hours in the recorked bottle. Will it blossom in bottle?
