Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2018-2024, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jun 2016

Bright lemon-yellow. Brisk lemon and grapefruit aromas are accented by fresh herbs, pepper and mint. Classic juicy, firm Puligny-Montrachet with subtle citrus and white pepper flavors and an uncompromisingly dry finish--"the style my father adores making and drinking," according to Lydie Boillot. The acidity here is not quite four grams per liter but there's no lack of energy or spine.

Pale greenish straw. Very seductive smoky intense nose in this house’s style. Edgy and chock-full of savoury fruit. There are many premiers crus without this much charm. Not fat; this producer has slimmed down along with everyone else. The only sacrifice may be in longevity. VGV (JR)

The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet Village is blessed with a charming, surprisingly mineral-rich, smoky bouquet that repays aeration in the glass, so do not be afraid to decant this. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with a fine line of acidity, impressive weight in the mouth, perhaps just requiring a tad more tension to come through on the finish. Still, this is an excellent village cru from Jean-Marc Boillot.

Pale bright yellow. Fruit-driven white peach and apple aromas and flavors. Good sappy village wine with more depth than the Meursault, as well as an impression of sucrosité . Nicely integrated acidity frames and extends the rich finish. In an easygoing style but very dry, at 0.9 grams per liter residual sugar. The vintage in general finished very dry, noted Boillot, who vinifies with selected yeast strains.
