The 2007 Barolo Monvigliero is relatively plush in this vintage, not surprising considering the characteristics of the year. Some of the Monvigliero high-toned fragrance is missing, but in exchange this Barolo delivers a more fruit-forward, intense expression of Nebbiolo laced with sweet red cherries flowers and mint. This should drink well pretty much right out of the gate.

Verduno. Concentrated ruby with broad orange rim. Forward, sweet fruit with dusty note. Very ripe fruit makes the wine accessible now. (WS)
