Monforte d’Alba. Deep ruby with small orange rim. Intense and opulent with a touch bacon. Rich dried fruit with elegant palate weight. Crunchy, sweet tannin. Quite a charmer. Seems to mature quickly? (WS)

Good bright medium red. Sexy aromas of red cherry, licorice, underbrush, camphor and minerals; higher-pitched than the 2007. Suave and fine-grained, with nicely integrated acidity giving shape and energy to the flavors of plum, tobacco and mocha. Broad tannins and sound acids carry the finish.
