The 2006 Barolo Serralunga offers up dusty cherries, dried herbs, mint and flowers in a soft, delicate expression of Nebbiolo well suited to near-term enjoyment. With air, the tannins soften nicely and the wine's ethereal, feminine personality shows its class. This is a bit quirky, but it's hard not to admire the wine's qualities as it gains focus and clarity in the glass.
