Note di degustazione
(25% new oak): Full, deep yellow. Extravagant aromas of apricot, yellow plum, marzipan, clove, white pepper and cyanic peach pit. Broad, tactile and very ripe, with a slightly phenolic quality to the stone fruit, clove and noble herb flavors. Big palate impact here without coming across as heavy.

Drouhin's 2011 Batard-Montrachet is all about texture, glycerin and richness. Honey, dried flowers, nectarine, tar, smoke and citrus are nicely layered in the glass. The only thing missing is the level of mid-palate fleshiness that is typical of Batard. Otherwise, this is a fine showing.
Explosively aromatic nose offers white flowers and gingery spices. Brisk and energetic but youthfully bound-up today, with edgy acidity hiding the wine's underlying sweetness. I wanted a bit more follow-through on the palate but this lively wine is in an awkward stage today, in part due to the high level of CO2.
