Very solid, thick Pauillac nose. Lots of matter here. This is the Ghislaine Barthod of the Médoc! Masses of density though not a lot of lift. Fresh finish. (JR)

Deep toasty crimson. Smooth, sweet and polished with an overlay of meat extract but no lift. Very stolid. Chewy end. A bit dry and ungracious. (JR)
About the same depth of crimson as the 2002 but with much, much more development at the rim. Seems much more developed on the nose with quite a bouquet. Sleek nose. The palate seems less evolved than the colour and the nose. Still quite firm. Solid, a little bit reminscent of the 2004 though not quite as concentrated. Fresh finish. (JR)
