Healthy, light crimson. Slight jamminess on the nose. Lots of acidity. Correct structure, some oak influence still in evidence. This is still more youthful than most of its peers. Pretty tart still. (JR)

Medium red. Red cherry, tobacco, smoke and spices on the nose. Supple, fruity and agreeable, with notes of rust, mocha, spices and underbrush. This is 13.2% alcohol, vs. 12.7% for the 2005 and comes across as creamier than, if not as primary as, the newer vintage.
(tasted from stainless steel tank) Good full red. Pure aromas of cherry, raspberry and spices. Pure and supple, with red fruit flavors complicated by hints of leather and meat and nicely framed by ripe acidity. Finishes with dusty tannins. This is all about fruit.
Cask sample. Healthy crimson. Quite deep and mossy nose, then great smoothness of texture. The biz. Very, very correct and this wine convinces. There are uncovered layers here. Open for de Montille. Quite fresh and bright and rich and lively. Quite a dry finish. (JR)
