Strong citrus and white flower aromas lead to simply beautiful flavors offering good intensity and cut, detail plus the initial notes of developing complexity. This is a terrific villages and while it can be drunk now, it is still improving and should hit its peak in 2004 or so.

Exhibiting bright, citrusy scents, the Puligny-Montrachet is a light-to-medium-bodied, delineated, floral and gravel-infused wine. It is feminine, delicate, and almost lace-like in nature. Projected maturity: now-2002. Gerard Boudot, this firm's director, bottled this wine between September and November, 1997. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel (205) 980-8802.
Dried pit fruits on the nose. A bit sweeter and more intensely flavored than the Chassagne villages, with firm acids and good length. Boudot produced 102 barrels of this in '96, from a host of components.
