Note di degustazione
Subtly complex nose combines lime, nut oil, butter, toast and truffle. Fat, broad, full and rich, with impressive volume and breadth. Soil-inflected flavors of truffle, herbs, nuts and minerals. A very ripe but nicely balanced version of this wine, finishing with excellent length and lingering sweetness. There's a lot of wine here.

Terroirists amongst our readership should note that I believe Maison Marc Morey’s Chassagne-Montrachet Virondots is the only wine from this vineyard on the market. The 2002 displays a spicy nose reminiscent of a liqueur of herbs such as Chartreuse. Light to medium-bodied, plush, powerful, and broad, this is a rich, fleshy, deep wine packed with flowers, stones, and pears. Projected maturity: 2005-2012. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
For now, more reticent than Les Vergers. Big, bold palate impact with less palate definition than Les Vergers. (JR)
