Riper on the nose than the Garenne but quite reserved, hinting at fruit salad, honey and nut oil. The palate offers a sweeter, richer impression, but bright acidity leavens the wine's thickness. In fact, this tactile wine shows a firm structure and excellent grip on the back and is distinctly tighter and less agreeable today than the Garenne. This cuvee struck me as the most austere of Boillot's premier crus in both 2008 and 2009.

Dumb nose. Lots of broad fruit on the palate. Correct but a little bit pinched. Lots of citrus on the finish – just a little bit too tight for its own good? (JR)
Pale, bright yellow. Citrus fruits and flowers on the nose. Suave on entry, then smooth and sweet in the middle, with citrus and white peach flavors dominating. Nicely balanced wine with subtle length. In an essentially gentle style but avoids the heaviness that wines from this premier cru can show in warm years. (I will reserve judgment on the Garenne, which showed a slightly tired, oxidative resiny character and needed the freshening of a sulfur addition.)
