Punteggio 89+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2004

Cool aromas of spiced apple, spring flowers and menthol. Very suave and seamless, with apple, flower blossom and spicy oak notes. Again, this is uncompromisingly dry in the way of so many Jadot wines. Very strong, youthfully aggressive finish calls for five or six years of bottle aging.

Licorice aromas. Pure, unforced but still reticent. Very chewy with less volume than the Perrières. (JR)

Herb-laced minerals are found in the aromatic profile of the light to medium-bodied 2002 Puligny-Montrachet Champs-Gain. A tightly wound, tangy wine, its focused, vivacious character reveals a concentrated, underlying minerality that should blossom and expand with cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015. A gently oaked, densely fruited, elegant nose of limestone and ripe peach and pear aromas are followed by precise, intense, wonderfully long flavors that deliver a lovely combination of grace and volume. The palate impression is sweet, pure, elegant and perfumed with a lovely sappiness to the sweet, gorgeously textured finish. Allen Meadows, Burghound Jul01,2004
