Note di degustazione
Displaying good richness and mineral aromas, the Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St. Jean possesses a medium-bodied, masculine, chewy, and focused personality with earthy, toasty, and stone-like flavors. This wine's structure and mouth-coating fruit lead me to believe that it may ultimately be even better than my score suggests. It should be consumed between 2001 and 2004. Less fruity but more complex aromas of flowers, herbs, grass and stones. More minerals and less flesh in the mouth; conveys a stronger impression of acidity and a firmer structure. The wine's minerality keeps the finish quite dry. A '96 that will need extended aging.
