The 1997 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes reveals mouth-watering scents of candied almonds, apples, and pears. Broader aromas of grilled nuts, lemon and smoke. Less evolved in the middle palate; conveys a stronger impression of acidity today than the Folatieres. Very firm, even slightly hard on the back end, almost like a '96. Very solidly built wine, with nicely integrated acidity.
