Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2005, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2005

Medium burnished ruby. The 1990 is a racy, irresistible Barolo that offers a rich, alcoholic nose of spices, minerals, mint, and eucalyptus. It is dense and packed on the palate with much intense, ripe fruit in round and immediate style, finishing with great length. Readers lucky enough to own this wine should feel in no hurry to finish their bottles, this 1990 shows plenty of structure and was still outstanding on the 2nd day after opening.

Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 1994-2009, Robert Parker, Apr 1994

Scavino's 1990s are immense, statuesque wines of exceptional richness and complexity. The 1990 Barolo Cannubi is a stunningly elegant wine with greater depth and richness than the regular cuvee. It offers a fascinating display of grace allied to considerable power and richness. The fruit's sweetness (from low yields and ripe grapes) is marvelous to behold. This flashy, complex wine is approachable now, yet capable of lasting for 10-15 years. Importer: a Marc di Grazia Selection, Michael Skurnick Wines, Westbury, NY.
