A wine of pure breadth and texture, the 2002 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses has probably not peaked yet. Lime, smoke, crushed rocks and white pepper flesh out with time. This racy, totally spherical Chablis has it all going on. The ripeness of the vintage is only apparent on the close. Well-stored bottles should drink well for another decade.

Musky aromas of quinine, gunflint, minerals and pure chalk; far more typical of grand cru Chablis than the 2003 version. Then highly concentrated and penetrating, with powerful flavors of minerals, lime, flowers and marzipan. More muscular than opulent today, and quite reserved at this stage. But this is strong and long, and very subtle on the aftertaste.
(from vines in excess of 60 years of age and a yield of just 35 hectoliters per hectare) Pretty, nicely defined aromas of grapefruit, mint, flowers and almond. Rich, dense, smooth and classy; this has compelling volume and an impressively enveloping texture. Really expands in the middle and builds on the back end. Full, sappy, fruity grand cru with great finesse. Dominated today by a flavor of thoroughly ripe grapefruit.
