The 1982 Montrachet Grand Cru (Marquis de Laguiche) has a wonderful bouquet that belies its age… Think of a silver turine full of fruits de mer, light seaweed notes and wet pavement, nudging almost to mature Chablis territory. The palate is very complex and beautifully balanced. The long, saline finish lingers in the mouth. I have encountered this vintage once or twice previously - this is certainly the best example.
